The last TV programs of the season: “Article 27” and “E-club”
“Article 27” the right of freedom of expression (Yerkir Media TV) and “E-Club” (A1+)
The last 13th “Article 27” the Right of Freedom of Expression was aired on June 6, 2012 (produced by Eurasia Partnership Foundation and Yerkir Media TV).The program was dedicated to the quality and the accuracy of the media coverage of social movements in Armenia and Turkey.
All the 13 talk shows went under three main themes- Armenia-Turkey relations, Armenia-Azerbaijan relation and Eastern partnership issues. The philosophy of the series was to discuss complex issues through civilized discussion with intelligent participants, presenting to the viewers related video materials and the mainstream vis-a-vis alternative discourse.
On June 26 the season’s last program of “E-Club” weekly cycle went on the online broadcast of “A1+” TV company. The “E-Club” was produced by Yerevan Press Club in cooperation with “A1+” TV under “Alternative Resources in Media” project, supported by USAID.
A1+ created a special section on its YouTube channel where all “E-Club” episodes are uploaded, making it easier for users to access the program.
This last program was devoted to the European Football Championship, being held in Poland and Ukraine. Particularly,
“E-Club” presented popular Armenian football websites, including http://www.armfootball.am, Euro-2012 photo galleries, online sports betting. The news bloc told about the Google initiative to join forces with linguists for saving endangered languages, about the Armenian translation of the mobile version of “Odnoklassniki” social network. The ratings of online sources and headlines of last week were presented by Artur Nazarian, Managing Editor of armsport.am. The web sources’ top list was headed by armsport.am, while the most popular topic was the appointment of Hrachya Rostomian as RA Minister of Sports and Youth Affairs.
Various segments of “E-Club” included opportunities offered by online technologies, usage tips, news on developments in the ICT sector, potential security risks for users; featured sites and blogs of the week, as well as the Web highlights of the last week presented by a guest expert.
Each program was distributed to regional stations for rebroadcast through the Hamaspyur network with at least 50,000 potential viewers to reach regional audiences. In addition, the A1+ online broadcast has around 15,000 potential viewers.
